Teaching Assistant - Immediate Start - Full-Time, Long-Term - Bexley Secondary School

A vibrant and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Bexley is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team immediately. This is a full-time, long-term position that will run until the end of the academic year, with the potential for further opportunities beyond this period.

Role Overview:As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students across a range of abilities and needs, helping to create an engaging and supportive learning environment. You will work closely with classroom teachers, pastoral teams, and SEN staff to assist with both academic and social development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-class support to students under the direction of the class teacher

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of differentiated learning activities

  • Work with individuals or small groups to support specific learning needs

  • Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a calm, safe, and productive environment

  • Support students with additional needs, including those with EHCPs

  • Assist in the preparation of classroom resources and displays

  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people in a school or similar setting

  • A valid DBS on the Update Service (essential)

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • A proactive, flexible, and patient approach

  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff

  • A genuine passion for supporting young people in their educational journey

Pay Range: Dependent on experience
