We are looking for highly motivated and skilled Drama teacher looking to join a thriving school. The Head of Drama / Head of Department takes a major role in ensuring that the programmes of study within Drama are designed to meet statutory requirements, provide appropriate pace and challenge for all students and include regular opportunities for assessment and review. The Head of Department works to:
- Ensure the smooth and effective running of the department on a day-to-day basis, including the support of trainee teachers and ECTs within the department.
- Support the leadership and delivery of a Department Improvement Plan that is an integral part of the School Improvement Plan
- Have a strong and deep understanding of the structure and sequencing of the Drama
- Curriculum from Year 7 through to Year 11 and into Key Stage 5
- Provide strong and inspirational leadership to the department.
- Lead the curriculum implementation of the subject through the embedding of Rosenshein
- Principles of Instruction and the use of Teach Like A Champion techniques
- Maintain strong links with families, enabling them to support their children with their learning.
- Ensure that the subject is accessible to students of all abilities.
- Ensure a strong extra-curricular provision that leads to performances.
- Work closely with the Music department to showcase the Performing Arts in the school.
