KS1 Classroom Teacher (Year 1)
Location: Bexley * Contract: Full-time, Jan-July (2 full terms) * Experience: All welcome

We are seeking an enthusiastic Year 1 teacher to join a supportive, forward-thinking school community in Bexley from January to July. This is a full-class teacher role with full responsibility, ideal for an ECT looking to grow or an experienced teacher seeking a fresh, rewarding challenge. You'll be joining a good school with a collaborative culture, strong leadership, and a clear commitment to pupil wellbeing and achievement.



Job Description (Summary)

  • Lead daily teaching and learning for a Year 1 class, delivering an engaging and well-structured KS1 curriculum.

  • Plan, assess and track pupil progress effectively, ensuring all learners are supported and challenged.

  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity, independence and confidence.

  • Work closely with colleagues across the federation, contributing to best practice.

  • Engage confidently with parents and carers as part of a strong home-school partnership.



Person Specification

  • Qualified Teacher Status (or pending for ECTs).

  • Strong understanding of KS1 pedagogy and child development.

  • Ability to build warm, supportive relationships with pupils and families.

  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality and high-quality teaching.

  • Experience in KS1 or early primary phases.

  • Confidence using assessment to inform next steps and personalise learning.

  • A reflective, proactive approach to professional development.
