We are currently looking for a Paralegal to join our client’s busy conveyancing team.Â
Duties for the Paralegal:
The role includes but is not limited to the following:
- To handle conveyancing work as required by the demands of the firm and clients, under the supervision of the partner in charge.
- Sending draft contract papers on a sale, including obtaining management information packs.
- Replying to enquiries on a sale.
- Reviewing replies to enquiries on a purchase (with the assistance of a fee earner if necessary on some points), reviewing and reporting on searches, corresponding with lenders.
- Dealing with Post Exchange matters (except for financial statements) and dealing with completions.
- To handle all work efficiently and in accordance with the firm’s professional standards and client care guidelines.
- To deal effectively with client queries by telephone or by clear and detailed letter.
- To organise diary and prioritise work.
- To deal courteously and efficiently (as necessary) with estate agents and mortgagees and with solicitors/conveyancers acting in linking transactions.
- Where applicable, to agree and meet budgeted fees and profit targets.
- Registration of properties with HMLR using their online Portal.
- Submitting HMRC SDLT returns and making payment.
Requirements for the Paralegal:
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as in a team environment
- Ability to organise and run a busy caseload and meet deadlines
- Diligent and conscientious approach to work
- Courteous and co-operative attitude
- Experience/qualifications relevant to conveyancing work
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- PC Literacy

This role is a full-time, permanent position. The salary range reflects the candidate's level of experience. The lower end of the band is suited for individuals who may require additional training to meet the role's requirements, while the higher end is for candidates who possess the exact skills and experience outlined above.
