Astute's EPC Contract Power team is partnering with a leading Operator within the UK Power Industry to recruit a Shift Team Leader for their Operational Waste to Energy facility in Oxfordshire for an 11 weeks outage from April 2026 onwards.
The Shift Team Leader role comes with a day rate from 550.00 to 650.00 outside of IR35.
Role responsibilities and key skills for the role:
Lead and coordinate shift teams during the outage period, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant execution of all works.
Oversee daily outage activities including isolation, de-isolation, permitting, and LOTO procedures.
Manage on-site contractors and maintenance teams, ensuring adherence to RAMS, work packs, and site safety rules.
Monitor progress against the outage schedule, escalating delays or risks, and ensuring tasks are completed to required standards.
Conduct daily briefings, toolbox talks, and shift handovers to maintain clear communication and continuity.
Ensure all plant areas are maintained in a safe, clean, and operationally ready condition throughout outage works.
Support defect identification, troubleshooting, and coordination of corrective actions across mechanical, electrical, and process systems.
Maintain accurate shift logs, permit records, and outage documentation for reporting to site management.
Liaise with Control Room Operators, engineers, and senior management to ensure alignment on priorities and plant status.- Promote a positive safety culture, ensuring any unsafe behaviours or conditions are challenged and reported promptly
- Utilise essential Energy-from-Waste operational experience to manage plant systems, understand process behaviours, and support safe outage delivery.
