Senior Hydraulic Engineer - Contract

Salary: £440 - £460 per day (Inside) (Negotiable subject to experience)
Duration: 6-12 months initial (option to extend)

We're seeking a Senior Hydraulic Engineer to help deliver some of the UK's most exciting and transformational infrastructure programmes. You'll contribute your expertise in fluid mechanics across critical sectors including Water, Defence, Energy AND Aviation. The ideal candidate will have Chartered status or working towards as a minimum.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team delivering high-quality hydraulic engineering design in line with relevant standards and codes
- Prepare technical briefs, scopes of work, and contribute to bid proposals
- Manage project time and budgets effectively to achieve key milestones and programme goals
- Collaborate closely with UK and international teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions
- Maintain strong adherence to quality assurance standards in all aspects of design
- Support the delivery of engineering excellence throughout the project lifecycle, including client-side support and construction phases

What we require from you:
- Chartered Civil Engineer
- Strong experience in leading design delivery, including multidisciplinary coordination
- In-depth knowledge of hydraulic design for water/wastewater treatment, pipelines, and surge analysis
- Familiarity with UK design standards and Design & Build delivery models
- Proficiency in hydraulic software tools including HADES, VARISIM, and WANDA
- Recognised professional profile within the water or infrastructure engineering sectors
- Eligible for security clearance (to be discussed at interview if necessary)
