This is a vital role offering professional support to police officers, staff, and volunteers through assessments, health screenings, and advisory services.This home-based position includes bi-monthly on-site clinics for health surveillance and other occasional visits for training and team meetings.Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide specialist occupational health advice through triaging management referrals and determining appropriate appointments.
  • Conduct fitness-for-work assessments in line with Equality Act 2010 and relevant health/safety legislation.
  • Support recruitment and specialised roles through health screenings and assessments.
  • Administer vaccinations and take blood samples when required.
  • Offer expert consultancy on health issues including infectious diseases and wellbeing.
  • Contribute to policy development and delivery of OH and Wellbeing initiatives.
  • Maintain continuous professional development for NMC revalidation.
Requirements:
  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) with a Diploma/Degree in Occupational Health Nursing.
  • Experience within an Occupational Health setting with strong emotional resilience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn internal systems.
  • Full UK Driving Licence – ability to travel across the force area is essential.
Desirable:
  • Familiarity with policing procedures and policies.
