Reed Food & FMCG are currently partnering with a Food Manufacturing business in Oxfordshire who are looking for a Production Manager to join their team. If you have production experience within the food industry and a love for different food products, then this could be the role for you.
We are seeking a Production Manager to ensure our products are manufactured safely, meet quality standards, and are delivered to customer specifications efficiently. This role is crucial for driving continuous improvement in our production processes, reducing waste, and enhancing overall efficiency.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Plan and manage the production schedule to ensure timely delivery of customer orders within budget and quality standards.
- Coordinate resources and raw materials for effective production flow.
- Collaborate with the maintenance department to maintain all production equipment.
- Implement and monitor quality standards, ensuring all products meet these criteria before release.
- Control productivity rates and production costs, providing regular reports on production data and performance.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes and product quality.
- Manage and motivate the production team, ensuring adequate staffing and training levels.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and set improvement targets for team members.
- Participate in the recruitment process and staff development initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal, health, safety, and food legislation standards.
- Engage in audit programs to maintain adherence to standard procedures and address non-conformances.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience managing food production in both high care and low care environments.
- Strong knowledge of continuous improvement techniques.
- Familiarity with food safety legislation and certifications such as Food Safety Level 3.
- Proficient in CCP, HACCP, and BRC principles.
- Excellent communication skills and proficient in IT (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Highly motivated, solution-driven, and capable of independent work.
- Flexible to work out of normal hours when required, providing support and guidance on-site.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to manage diverse teams in a dynamic environment.
