Job description

We’re working with a large manufacturing business which operates 24/7 that is actively seeking to add an experienced Mechanical Engineer to its Manufacturing Engineering Support teams.

Location: Near Bicester

Salary: £40,314 plus overtime

Mechanical Engineer (Shift)

Average 42 hours per week

12 hours shifts – 07.00am-19.00pm OR 19.00pm-07.00am

Working 4 on and 4 off - 2 days/2nights shifts

The successful candidate will be responsible for day to day running, repairs and maintenance of all production related equipment, including breakdown repairs and continuous improvement project/task work, ordering of spares and general site facility tasks.

  • Relevant training or have served an apprenticeship
  • Have experience working as an Industrial Mechanical Shift Engineer within Industrial, Manufacturing or Automation.
  • Any experience in the printing or packaging industry would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Experience with maintenance programmes within a large scale manufacturing environment.
  • Electromechanical skills are a definite advantage but not essential
  • Have excellent communication, organisational and team work skills
  • Self-motivation, ability to apply initiative and determination
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills are essential.

As you can imagine in such a busy role, we would like you to be able to demonstrate the necessary flexibility, enthusiasm and drive to work within a fast-paced department.

Specific training will be provided. Some machine assets have OEM remote support diagnostics.
