Finance Assistant

Bideford | Monday-Friday | 9am-5.30pm | Full-time | 6-month Fixed-Term Contract



Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for a Finance Assistant based in Bideford to support day-to-day finance activities. This role is ideal for someone with a strong interest in finance, excellent IT skills, and a customer-focused approach.



Key Duties

  • Process weekly and monthly payment runs, ensuring accurate recording of deductions.

  • Support the preparation of Monthly Management Accounts, including relevant schedules and reconciliations.

  • Process and record refunds accurately.

  • Collaborate with internal departments to support finance tasks and systems training.

  • Assist with year-end audit preparation by compiling and checking required information.



Requirements

  • Experience working in a busy finance or management accounts department.

  • Excellent IT skills, including accounting packages and advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge.

  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills.

  • Adaptable and quick to learn, particularly in technical areas.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a diplomatic approach.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to use initiative.

  • Customer-focused with a positive and proactive attitude.

  • Experience with a range of finance tasks, including balance sheet reconciliations.
