Our client is a well-established and reputable civils and groundworks contractor based in Devon, delivering high-quality projects across the South West.
The Role
They are seeking a skilled and motivated Setting Out Engineer to join our dynamic team. This is a key role where you’ll be responsible for accurate setting out, quality assurance, and technical support across a wide variety of civil engineering and groundworks projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately set out for all construction activities including foundations, drainage, roads, steel frames, retaining walls, and external works
- Carry out site surveys, as-builts, and quality checks including line and level surveys
- Read and interpret construction drawings and plans
- Provide technical support to site teams and resolve design-related issues
- Liaise with project managers, site supervisors, engineers, and architects
- Maintain accurate records of work, surveys, and quality checks
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer on civils or groundworks projects
- Proficient in the use of GPS, total stations, and AutoCAD
- Solid understanding of foundation types, drainage systems, and reinforced concrete structures
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Full UK driving licence
