Job Overview

We are a well-established precision engineering company supplying high-quality components to demanding sectors. We are looking to recruit an experienced Quality Inspector/CMM Programmer to join our quality team.

This is a hands-on role involving both CMM programming and inspection duties, working with complex precision components and tight tolerances.

Key Responsibilities

  • Programming and operating CMMs using PC-DMIS 2013
  • Carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspections
  • Interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and tolerances
  • Applying GD&T principles accurately
  • Producing clear inspection reports and documentation
  • Using manual inspection equipment (micrometers, verniers, height gauges, bore gauges, etc.)
  • Supporting production and engineering teams with quality-related issues
  • Maintaining quality standards in line with company procedures and customer requirements

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience as a Quality Inspector / CMM Programmer in a precision engineering environment
  • Strong working knowledge of PC-DMIS 2013 (programming and inspection)
  • Confident reading and interpreting technical drawings
  • Good understanding of GD&T
  • Experience inspecting complex, tight-tolerance components
  • High attention to detail and a methodical approach
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience in aerospace, automotive, defence or similar high-spec sectors
  • Knowledge of quality systems (ISO 9001 / AS9100)
  • Experience supporting audits or NPI activities
