Job Overview
We are a well-established precision engineering company supplying high-quality components to demanding sectors. We are looking to recruit an experienced Quality Inspector/CMM Programmer to join our quality team.
This is a hands-on role involving both CMM programming and inspection duties, working with complex precision components and tight tolerances.
Key Responsibilities
- Programming and operating CMMs using PC-DMIS 2013
- Carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspections
- Interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and tolerances
- Applying GD&T principles accurately
- Producing clear inspection reports and documentation
- Using manual inspection equipment (micrometers, verniers, height gauges, bore gauges, etc.)
- Supporting production and engineering teams with quality-related issues
- Maintaining quality standards in line with company procedures and customer requirements
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Quality Inspector / CMM Programmer in a precision engineering environment
- Strong working knowledge of PC-DMIS 2013 (programming and inspection)
- Confident reading and interpreting technical drawings
- Good understanding of GD&T
- Experience inspecting complex, tight-tolerance components
- High attention to detail and a methodical approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience in aerospace, automotive, defence or similar high-spec sectors
- Knowledge of quality systems (ISO 9001 / AS9100)
- Experience supporting audits or NPI activities
