HR Manager – £50k–£55k – Food Manufacturing

Based in Biggleswade (Multi-Site role)

Most HR jobs promise “a seat at the table.” In reality, you spend your days firefighting payroll queries, chasing line managers for performance reviews, and organising the odd “fun at work” initiative no one asked for.

This isn’t that.

This role is about leading HR across multiple sites, shaping culture, and actually influencing how people and performance come together to drive a business forward. You’ll be part of the leadership team, not just sat in the background writing policies no one reads.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading HR across multiple sites, making sure the full employee lifecycle (from hiring to development to retention) actually works.
  • Working with leadership to build and execute people strategies that mean something — succession planning, engagement, DE&I, wellbeing.
  • Using data, reporting and headcount planning to drive smarter people decisions.
  • Keeping the business compliant on employment law and ethical standards (including customer audits).
  • Building a culture people want to be part of — not because you stuck a ping-pong table in the office, but because you’ve created real engagement.

What you’ll need:

  • Solid experience as a senior HR professional in a multi-site role in Manufacturing (bonus points for Food Manufacturing).
  • Strong employment law knowledge and experience with change management.
  • A background in driving culture and performance, not just running processes.
  • The ability to use data, budgets, and reporting to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Confidence, resilience, and the ability to push things through to completion.
  • A CIPD qualification (Chartered level preferred).
