This role offers a fantastic bridge for someone from a practice or audit background looking to make their first move into industry – or for a QBE or nearly/newly qualified accountant seeking more ownership, variety, and stakeholder interaction.
You’ll join a forward-thinking finance team at a time of expansion, supporting client audits, reconciliation processes, and the delivery of high-value open book contracts.
The Role
You’ll take the lead on financial analysis and reconciliation work for one of the organisation’s largest clients, managing the full P&L and taking part in weekly and monthly client reviews. This is a pivotal role supporting the Finance Business Partnering team, freeing up their capacity by owning client audit preparation, data analysis, and review responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Own client reconciliations and manage key external audit requests
- Take full responsibility for the P&L of a major open book client
- Analyse, extract and review financial data to ensure margin integrity and reporting accuracy
- Act as a commercial partner to operations, addressing issues such as induction costs or revenue variances
- Support wider client reconciliation activity and new contract onboarding
This role is well-suited to:
- A practice-trained accountant (ACA/ACCA) seeking a move into a commercial finance role
- A QBE with strong audit or reconciliation experience
- A nearly or newly qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) looking for ownership and impact
- A meticulous individual with a strong analytical mindset and comfort working with large data sets
- Someone confident engaging with stakeholders across finance and operations
The Offer
- 12-month fixed term contract with a strong likelihood of becoming permanent
- £40,000 – £50,000 salary range, depending on experience
- Hybrid working – 2 days per week in the office
- Flexible hours and part-time options – open to 4 days per week or 80% hour
- Join a business during a key growth phase with a 6-million-hour contract win in progress
- Exposure to senior stakeholders, key clients, and business-critical projects
- Supportive team culture with structured onboarding and future progression routes
