Factory Manager
Salary: £30,000-£35,000 DOE
Hours: Monday to Thursday (Apply online only) (40hrs)
This position is working for a leading manufacturer within a process-based industry who have a strong reputation which reflects on their commitment to quality at all levels from design, manufacture and delivery. They are looking for an Factory Manager to join their successful team in Nottingham.
Main Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for one production line and cutting shop (total of approx.. 13-14 people) including 2 supervisors.
- Carry out 1 to 1s and appraisals with staff.
- Carry out effective people engagement and performance management.
- Ensure quality checks are being carried out, in full, in line with production documents.
- Collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to understand and deliver customer requirements.
- Be accountable for quality control.
- Manage and deliver KPI’s
- Effective planning of labour resource in line with production requirements
- Completed training documentation, Training Matrix up to date
- Identify risks to performance and escalate to Production Manager when support is required.
- Lead and encourage problem solving to minimise downtime, reduce waste and increase
- efficiency.
- Drive performance to complete the weekly plan ensuring adherence to the plan
- supporting the business objective to deliver on time and in full.
The Candidate:
- Mechanical knowledge would be an advantage
- FLT experience would be an advantage
- Happy to make on the spot decisions
- Enable and build strong team performances. Be willing to challenge performance in both a respectful and constructive way. Lead by example.
- Demonstrates a flexible attitude towards work and is able to respond to business priorities.
- Strong work ethic, must want to do tasks and understand their value.
- Motivated to take on new areas of work and learn new skills.
- A good working knowledge and understanding of factory processes and technology.
- Previous experience of working towards improving and maintaining quality standards.
Training – Will be carried out on a day shift for potentially up to 6 months
The successful candidate will be working within an established experienced team, training and support supplied on all equipment/machinery.
