We are currently looking for a Quality and Tech Manager for our well-established client based in Billericay, Essex.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am - 17:00pm

As a Quality and Tech Manager, you will be required to manage the quality, technical procedures and processes to meet all requirements and deadlines assigned to quality assurance and technical team. You will also practice shared authority over allocated operatives in the QA technical team while seeking any required assistance from company directors.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Quality and Technical team to deliver accurate technical documentation, reports, and the design of relevant systems and procedures.

  • Oversee all Quality Assurance and Technical (QA&T) department activities, including resource planning and recommendations.

  • Manage customer and supplier compliance documentation in coordination with the Commercial team — including specifications, assessment questionnaires, statements, and supporting data sheets.

  • Maintain and improve quality systems such as FSQM, GFMS, and HACCP manuals, ensuring procedures align with business needs.

  • Ensure compliance through document control and review processes (e.g., concessions, audits, and non-conformance management).

  • Arrange and host internal and external audits to maintain accreditation standards.

  • Deliver training to employees (up to Team Leader level) on quality and compliance-related topics; regularly assess and update training needs.

  • Review and verify Quality Management System (QMS) records such as cleaning schedules, glass audits, weight checks, and metal detection logs.

  • Monitor and assess departmental resource requirements and performance.

  • Delegate responsibilities effectively, guiding the team to meet objectives while ensuring alignment with company policies.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and manage team development.

  • Chair monthly management review meetings and report departmental performance and concerns to the board.

  • Represent the company at industry-related professional groups, events, and forums
