Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons for diverse students, meeting curriculum requirements for Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage (KS4) students
  • As an English teacher, you'll play a key role in championing literacy throughout the school, supporting student's reading, writing, speaking, and listening development
  • Enrich a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel safe, respected, and motivated to participate
  • Organise and lead extracurricular activities, such as drama clubs, debating societies, or creative writing workshops

Requirements

  • PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) and QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) in the UK.
  • A strong command of the English language, including grammar, literature, composition, and creative writing.
  • Proven ability to manage a classroom and create an environment conducive to learning.
  • Familiarity with curriculum standards and teaching methods specific to English.
  • A genuine passion for teaching and inspiring students to love learning.
  • Enhanced DBS check required (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Two professional references are required for this position
