Job Title: Residential Support Worker – SEMH Pupils (Ages 10-16)
Location: Near Basildon & Chelmsford, Essex
Contract: Full-Time / Permanent

TeacherActive is seeking dedicated and caring Residential Support Workers to support pupils aged 10-16 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive residential setting close to Basildon and Chelmsford.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Providing day-to-day care and support to SEMH pupils in a residential environment
• Building positive relationships to promote emotional well-being and independence
• Supporting pupils with their daily routines, education, and personal development
• Implementing tailored behavior management strategies
• Ensuring a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all residents

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience working with children or young people, preferably with SEMH needs
• A caring, patient, and resilient attitude
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A genuine desire to help young people achieve their potential
• Must be a driver due to the rural location (access to a car is essential)

Qualifications:

• Relevant child care, support, or health & social care qualification is desirable but not essential
• Valid UK driving license is required
