Smart Education is currently recruiting dedicated Science Technicians to join secondary schools across Teesside. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands-on role, takes pride in laboratory organisation, and wants to support both staff and students in achieving excellence in science education.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Preparing and maintaining materials, equipment, and resources for science lessons and practical experiments

  • Assisting teachers in the delivery of science lessons where required

  • Ensuring all laboratories and equipment comply with health and safety standards

  • Supporting students with practical work, experiments, and demonstrations

  • Maintaining accurate records of stock, equipment, and chemicals

  • Helping create a safe, organised, and stimulating learning environment

Who We’re Looking For:
  • Minimum of 6 months’ experience in a school, laboratory, or education setting – UK experience essential

  • Knowledge of basic science laboratory procedures and health & safety practices

  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work with students and teaching staff

  • A professional, reliable, and adaptable approach

  • Enhanced DBS (Child or Child & Adult Workforce), or willingness to apply

  • A genuine interest in supporting science education and student development
