Due to continued success and increased business capacity, a well-established engineering and manufacturing organisation is looking to expand its Proposals team with the addition of a skilled and motivated Estimator.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret Purchase Order Requisitions and Request for Proposals (RFPs) from clients.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates based on client enquiry packages for review by the Proposals Manager.
  • Assess client specifications and prepare detailed and professional quotations.
  • Collaborate with internal departments—engineering, manufacturing, sales, and project management—to gather relevant information and ensure seamless proposal development.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and technical data.
  • Coordinate across departments to develop comprehensive bid documents.
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with company health and safety procedures.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and technologies.
  • Manage multiple proposal projects concurrently, meeting deadlines and client expectations.
  • Present proposal documents and provide support during client meetings and reviews.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience in estimating and/or sales, ideally within an industrial, engineering, or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Solid understanding of welding, fabrication processes, and stainless steel alloys.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office packages (Excel, Word, and Project).
  • Basic understanding of AutoCAD is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Awareness of health & safety, environmental, and quality standards.
