Your role would include:

-Providing teaching and support to pupils with autism, following individualised curriculums

-Planning, preparing and delivering lessons and activities, focusing largely on life skills

-Supporting pupils' participation in trips, applying theory-based learning to practice

-Providing behaviourally based support to reduce behaviours that impact quality of life

-Providing personal care, encouraging pupils to maintain acceptable levels of hygiene (toileting, feeding)

-Monitoring pupil progress, ensuring teaching is appropriate and effective for pupil needs

-Assisting with breaktime duties including playground support and snack time

Skills and capabilities:

-Minimum Grade C/4 or equivalent, in English Language & Maths

-Professional, personal or voluntary experience of working with children and disabilities

- Comfortable working with children who exhibit challenging behaviour

- Comfortable supporting others with personal/intimate care where required

- Ability to keep calm in high pressure situation

- Own means of transport, due to location desirable
