Quality Inspector
A well-established and respected precision engineering company is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join its team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a key position working alongside the Quality Manager, focused on maintaining and improving quality standards across the business.
The company specialises in the manufacture of low-volume, high-precision components for industries including aerospace, oil & gas, and defence. Key Responsibilities:

Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of components using micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, height gauges and other precision tools.

Ensure components meet tight tolerances and comply with customer specifications.

Read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications, understanding all relevant symbols and tolerances.

Carry out first-off, in-process, final, and goods-in inspections.

Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure full product and process traceability.
-
Quarantine and report non-conforming products and contribute to root cause investigations.

Raise and manage concession requests and non-conformance reports.
-
Support the completion of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).

Prepare and review Certificates of Conformity.

Liaise directly with customers regarding quality issues as needed.

Work closely with the Quality Manager to support continuous improvement and drive a quality-focused culture across the business.
Requirements:

Previous experience working in a precision engineering or machining environment is essential.

Strong working knowledge of visual and dimensional inspection methods.

Confident using a wide range of measuring equipment and tools.

Ability to measure in both metric and imperial units.

Experience with CMM equipment and producing inspection reports is desirable.

Understanding of quality systems such as AS9100 or equivalent is preferred.

Strong communication skills, with excellent attention to detail and a proactive mindset.

Competence with Microsoft Office and standard quality documentation software.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
This Quality Inspector position offers a structured environment with clear expectations and a well-defined scope of work.
Working Hours:
-
Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm

Friday: 8:00am – 2:30pm
(Flexibility can be discussed if required)

Salary: £33,000 - £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)
