Do you want to make a difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs?
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs at a unique and therapeutic school setting in Nottinghamshire (NG32).
This is not your typical classroom-based role - the school offers learning that meets the needs of pupils, whether that be classroom based or in alterante learning spaces. The focus is upon helping pupils overcome barriers and re-engage with education through nature, nurture, and trust.
What you'll be doing as a SEN Teaching Assistant:
Supporting pupils with SEN and SEMH on a 1:1 and small group basis
Encouraging learning and emotional development through outdoor activities
Helping students manage emotions, behaviour, and social interactions
Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff
Assisting with personalised learning plans tailored to individual needs
Creating a safe, therapeutic, and supportive learning environment
What we're looking for:
Experience working with children or young people - especially in SEN, SEMH, or alternative education
Calm, patient and nurturing attitude
Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships
Team player with a flexible, proactive mindset
Any relevant qualification is welcome but not essential - your passion is what matters most
Why join Long Term Futures?
Consistent full-time work - no day-to-day supply
Opportunity to secure a permanent Teaching Assistant role
Trial days instead of formal interviews - see if the role is right for you
Ongoing support from your dedicated consultant
Access to free CPD training, including:
