Year 1 Teaching Assistant

Desian Education is delighted to be working in partnership with a two-form entry primary school located in Birkenhead, to recruit a Year 1 Classroom Teaching Assistant to join their team from after the October half-term break.

This is a full-time, long-term position, ideal for a passionate and proactive individual looking to support young learners in Key Stage 1.

About the Role:

• Supporting Year 1 pupils with daily learning activities
• Working alongside the class teacher and parallel class TA
• Assisting with phonics, reading, writing, and early maths
• Delivering small group interventions where needed
• Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning

What you will need:

• Experience working with children (KS1 experience desirable)
• A patient, nurturing and enthusiastic attitude
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one via Desian Education)
