We're looking for a dedicated Year 5 Teacher to join a welcoming school in Birkenhead, delivering engaging and high-quality lessons that help pupils grow in confidence and prepare for Year 6.

Year 5 Teacher (Maternity Cover) - Birkenhead
Prospero Teaching are working with a friendly and well-resourced primary school in Birkenhead who are seeking a confident Year 5 Teacher to cover a maternity leave. The successful candidate will take full classroom responsibility, planning and delivering creative and well-structured lessons that inspire pupils and promote progress across all subjects.

You'll be joining a collaborative KS2 team with excellent leadership support and access to high-quality resources. This role would suit an experienced teacher confident in classroom management and assessment, but ECTs with strong placement experience in upper KS2 are also encouraged to apply.

CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS
* Location - Birkenhead
* Position - Year 5 Teacher
* Start date - November 2025
* Contract type - Fixed Term / Maternity Cover
* Full time/part time - Full time
* Minimum rate of pay - 120 - 180 per day
* Hours - 8:00am to 4:00pm

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
* Teaching qualification with QTS
* Experience teaching within KS2 (essential)
* Knowledge of the Year 5 curriculum and assessment
* Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential as some training is provided)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
* Hold Right to Work in the UK
* Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
* Provide two professional references
