Ambitek are currently recruiting for a Marine Project Manager (Ship Manager) for our client based over in Birkenhead.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily schedules and maintain effective communication with teams.
  • Enhance productivity and efficiency across all operations.
  • Focus on increasing gross margins, reducing costs, and maximizing sales opportunities.
  • Coordinate various trade disciplines and subcontractors to ensure timely and efficient completion of work.
  • Optimize resource levels for better workflow.
  • Manage the costs of materials and consumables effectively.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and encourage innovation.
  • Regularly monitor performance and adjust outputs when necessary.
  • Demonstrate commercial awareness and decision-making related to "build or buy" strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and codes, including ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO18001.
  • Uphold and enforce QA/QC procedures, ensuring all departmental work adheres to the required regulations.
  • Ensure all work under your control aligns with the company's Occupational Health & Safety Management System.
  • Conduct frequent work area inspections to identify and eliminate hazardous conditions and practices.

Skills and Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Apprenticeship, HNC/HND level qualification, or equivalent experience in Marine/Mechanical/Electrical disciplines.
  • Proven experience in the maintenance and repair of marine vessels, along with a solid understanding of Planned Maintenance Systems.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Classification Society Rules.
  • Experience supporting vessel docking and maintenance periods.
