We're delighted to be exclusively partnering with a market-leading business headquartered in Birmingham city centre to recruit a Financial Controller to join their high-performing finance team.

The Role:

Reporting to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller will lead the day-to-day operations of the finance function, with oversight of financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, internal controls, and team development. Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and developing a small finance team, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across all financial operations

  • Preparing timely monthly management accounts, including insightful commentary and analysis

  • Managing the budgeting and forecasting process in collaboration with department heads

  • Overseeing statutory accounts, audit preparation and compliance with relevant regulations

  • Driving improvements in processes, controls and financial systems

  • Supporting strategic decision-making with high-quality financial insight and modelling

About You:

We're looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA) with a proven track record in a similar Financial Controller or senior finance role. The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and commercial acumen

  • Experience managing and developing finance teams

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to drive change and improvements

  • Prior experience in a fast-paced, growing business (industry background is flexible)

  • Degree in accountancy, economics, business etc.
