Role and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts for multiple UK group companies
  • Overseeing monthly payroll for 60+ employees, including pension administration
  • Managing an Accounts Administrator, overseeing sales and purchase ledger activities and supplier payment runs
  • Delivering regular financial reporting, including KPIs, cash flow management, and business analytics
  • Conducting bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and ad hoc financial reporting
  • Submitting quarterly VAT returns and assisting in annual budget preparation and financial forecasting
  • Implementing effective cash flow management and reporting
  • Establishing and maintaining accounting controls, systems, and processes
  • Assisting with stock control, customs queries, and process improvements
  • Examining financial reports to ensure accurate record-keeping
  • Leading annual audit preparations and producing statutory accounts in collaboration with external accountants
  • Preparing R&D tax claims
  • Acting as the main point of contact for banking and financial compliance matters
  • Collaborating with the management team to drive efficiencies and financial improvements

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in financial operations, such as Finance Officer, Financial Controller, or similar roles
  • Strong understanding of core accounting processes, data analysis, and forecasting methods
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence
  • Advanced Excel proficiency
  • Experience within a manufacturing/industrial environment
  • Experienced user of Sage or similar
