Financial Controller - Financial Services / Banking

Our client, a financial services / property PLC based in The Midlands requires a qualified Financial Controller. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will lead a team of c. 15 - 20 people.

You will be a qualified ACA /ACCA / CIMA finance professional with 10 years+ post qualified experience in financial services, banking or another regulated industry or PLC.

You will be responsible for

  • Monthly / annual financial reporting to group parent company
  • Managing audit requirements
  • Statutory / regulatory returns
  • Tax
  • Treasury
  • Project work including acquisitions / disposals
  • Process improvement
  • Financial Modelling
  • Support finance departments interaction with both group finance and operational business
  • Manage team of c. 15-20 ( 3 DRs)

You will work closely with colleagues in commercial finance and operations. You will need excellent team leadership and communication skills and the credibility to work with senior management / the board to drive the business forward. You may be required to stand-in for the CFO.

This is a high profile role in a fast moving / change environment.

You will be a qualified accountant with a strong track record in technical financial accounting / reporting, coupled with strong leadership / operational ability.

Experience of working in financial services / banking (exposure to FCA / PRA )/ regulated industry /FTSE PLC would be advantageous, but not essential.
