About the Business

An opportunity to be an Accounts Assistant for a service business based in Birmingham. It’s a long-running company which works with a wide variety of clients in their field.

Main Duties:

As an Accounts Assistant, your main duties include:

  • Processing supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Preparation and process of payment runs.
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements, resolving any discrepancies.
  • Monitoring customer accounts to ensure timely collection of outstanding balances.
  • Conducting credit checks on new customers and setting appropriate credit limits.
  • Chasing overdue invoices via phone, email, and letters.
  • Negotiating payment plans and terms with customers when necessary.
  • Preparation of regular reports on aged debtors and credit control activities.
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and company policies.
  • Other ad hoc tasks as required.
