We are currently seeking an Accounts Assistant to join a growing SME within the manufacturing sector. With distribution hubs across the UK, Europe, and China, and supplying products to some of the UK’s largest retailers, this is an exciting opportunity to become part of a business with ambitious growth plans over the coming years. This is a hands-on, transactional finance role, ideal for someone with strong attention to detail and a solid background in purchase and sales ledger processes.

What will you do as Accounts Assistant ?

  • Processing purchase and sales invoices, ensuring accurate nominal and departmental coding
  • Preparing and managing weekly and monthly payment runs in line with supplier terms
  • Allocating customer payments and maintaining up-to-date debtor accounts
  • Performing bank and credit card reconciliations on a monthly basis
  • Responding promptly to finance-related queries from suppliers, customers, and internal teams
  • Supporting the finance team with ad hoc tasks, reporting, and documentation as required

What do you need as an Accounts Assistant?

  • Proven experience in a transactional finance role
  • Strong understanding of purchase and sales ledger processes
  • Proficiency in accounting software Sage, strong Excel
  • AAT Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) preferred
