RM Recruit are proud to be working with an excellent, growing manufacturing business based in Coleshill who are seeking a confident, well-articulated Assistant Accountant to join their team on a full-time, temporary basis for circa 12 months with the scope for the position to become permanent. Our client can offer a flexible, hybrid working arrangement with the office presence set at three times per week and two days working from home. The ideal candidate will be immediately available or available on short notice.
This rol will see you working closely with the Financial Controller assisting with month end duties with a blend of managing the ledger and credit control function.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the preparation of month and year end accounts
- Processing VAT returns
- Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts
- Support the Financial Controller with statutory audit and tax queries
- Manage supplier accounts and queries
- Reconcile credit card statement and submit invoices for processing
- Set up Direct Debit collections
- Raising invoices and credit notes
- Managing aged debtors
The ideal candidate will be part-qualified in AAT, ACCA, or CIMA, with a solid track record of experience in a similar finance role. Strong proficiency in Excel is essential, including the ability to work confidently with advanced functions, data analysis, and reporting tools. A confident and approachable demeanour, combined with a professional and proactive attitude, is key to succeeding in this position.
You will demonstrate the ability to thrive in a fast-paced finance environment, balancing competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. A strong work ethic, excellent time management skills, and the ability to take initiative will be crucial, along with a collaborative approach to working as part of a wider finance team.
