They are now seeking an Associate Structural Engineer to join their Birmingham studio, offering the opportunity to play a leading role in the technical and team delivery of high-quality structural projects across a range of sectors and materials.
The Role
As a senior member of the structural team, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day technical delivery of projects, from early concept through to construction. Reporting to an Associate Director, you will act as a project lead or discipline lead, working closely with architects, clients, and consultants while mentoring and line managing engineers at varying levels.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading the technical delivery of structural engineering projects

Acting as Project Lead, Design Manager, or Discipline Lead as required

Producing and reviewing calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports

Coordinating closely with architects, clients, contractors, and consultants

Managing budgets, programmes, resourcing, and technical risk

Attending design meetings, site inspections, and progress reviews

Line managing and mentoring junior and senior engineers

Supporting business development through strong client and project relationships

Ensuring compliance with UK design codes, sustainability objectives, CDM, and statutory requirements
What We’re Looking For

Extensive post-graduate experience in a UK structural engineering design consultancy

Strong experience delivering projects from concept through construction

Excellent understanding of UK design codes, procurement routes, and construction methods

Confident communicator with experience leading teams and coordinating multidisciplinary design

Design-focused mindset, comfortable working on architecturally led projects

Chartered Engineer status (CEng)
-
Level 7 qualification (MEng or equivalent)
