Commissioning Engineer – Energy Systems (UK & Europe)

MC Technical Recruitment are working with a leading provider of power generation systems and gas upgrading solutions, to recruit a Commissioning Engineer to join their growing international team. This is a permanent, field-based role with travel across the UK, Northern Ireland, and occasionally Europe. You’ll be involved in the commissioning, optimisation, and support of a wide range of energy systems, including gas engines, CHP units, and gas upgrading equipment.

As the Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Commissioning and programming PLC systems
  • Working on electrical, mechanical, and control & instrumentation (C&I) systems
  • Supporting the installation and optimisation of gas engines and upgrading equipment
  • Travelling across the UK and Europe from time-to-time to commission plant
  • Assisting with engine optimisation and system upgrades when not commissioning new assets
  • Liaising with clients and internal teams to ensure high-quality project delivery
  • Other duties as required

To be considered, you should have:

  • A background in electrical, controls and/or instrumentation engineering
  • Experience with PLCs including programming or troubleshooting
  • Previous commissioning experience (or a strong desire to move into commissioning)
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work away from home
  • A full UK driving licence
