Commissioning Engineer / Field Service Engineer

We are seeking a commissioning engineer / field service engineer with an electrical background to support clients in the Midlands area. The role is home based with travel to client sites.

The role is offered with a base salary of 40 - 60K+, depending on your level of experience. It also comes with additional payments worth approx. 20K

The successful candidate will ideally have previous practical experience of Wastewater / Water treatment, Aeration Control and Blower staging (pump staging), but this is not a deal breaker.

This is an electrical NOT mechanical role. You will ideally have PLC experience

Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site servicing, repairs, and maintenance of water treatment equipment (specifically blowers and pumps). Electrical
  • Optimising control systems and automation systems (aeration)
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues efficiently to minimise downtime.
  • Provide training and support to clients on the proper use of equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs, and parts used and prepare field service reports.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs and provide solutions.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a commissioning engineer, Field Service Technician or similar role.
  • Strong electrical aptitude with the ability to work with various tools and equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) & VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) experience is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective customer interaction.
  • A valid driving licence is essential for travel to client sites.
  • A valid passport

Qualifications

  • Ideally an apprenticeship in electrical maintenance or similar
  • PLC experience (ideally)

Additional Payments & benefits

40 GPB per diem when travelling to a customer site

All travel expenses including car rental, hotel and flights (if abroad)

55p per mile using own car
