They are seeking experienced Mechanical & Electrical Engineers to join a growing service and maintenance team. This role is home-based and involves travelling to customer sites across the UK, working on a variety of warehouse and FMCG machinery, including conveyors, auto-loaders, and other automated equipment.
You will be provided with a fully equipped van, tools, and ongoing training, enabling you to deliver preventative maintenance, repairs, and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive servicing, and breakdown repairs on automated material handling equipment
- Ensure all work complies with technical standards, Health & Safety regulations, risk assessments, and method statements
- Perform proactive inspections (thermal, acoustic, visual, and audit checks) to identify and resolve potential issues
- Maintain accurate records, including reports, risk assessments, expenses, and timesheets
- Provide excellent customer service and build strong on-site relationships
- Support other areas of the business where required, including cover, training, and installation support
- Continuously develop technical skills and keep up to date with industry standards
Experience Required:
- Recognised Mechanical & Electrical Engineering qualifications
- Preferred: NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds 2391, 2394, 2395 or equivalent in Inspection, Testing, and Verification
- Minimum: Level 2 Access to Building Services; Electrotechnical Craft; Building Services Engineering Technicals; or MGTS Mechanical to Electrical Conversion
- Proven experience working with large machinery in FMCG or logistics warehouses (e.g., conveyors, auto loaders)
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety, including safe working with heavy machinery
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
- Willingness to undergo a DBS check
