Field Service Engineer
Midlands - UK Travel
Salary: 40,000 - 45,000 + Van Included

An established AV design, programming, and installation company based in the Midlands is looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with a wide range of technologies, and travelling across the country to support clients.

You will be responsible for providing nationwide on-site troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of AV and control systems. While the company is Midlands-based, the position requires regular travel across the UK for call-outs, as well as occasional scheduled on-site support at a key corporate client. You'll work closely with internal teams to keep systems running smoothly and ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend call-outs across the UK to diagnose and resolve AV and control system issues
  • Provide on-site support and maintenance for Crestron, Q-Sys, Extron, Shure, and other professional AV platforms
  • Assist with system updates, testing, commissioning checks, and configuration adjustments
  • Deliver occasional dedicated support at a corporate client site
  • Maintain detailed service reports and communicate effectively with the office and project teams
  • Represent the company professionally while working closely with clients

Required Experience

  • Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer within the AV industry
  • Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding abilities across control systems and DSPs
  • Hands-on knowledge of Crestron, Q-Sys, Extron, and related technologies
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel nationwide when required
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
  • Full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK
