Quality Engineer

Location: Based in Wolverhampton
Hours: 39 hours per week
Reports to: Senior Quality Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a Quality Engineer to support operations in maintaining high standards of product quality. You will act as a technical expert in quality tools and techniques, ensuring that manufacturing processes and documentation meet both internal and customer standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain quality documentation and controls.

  • Compile and manage customer-specific documentation.

  • Support internal manufacturing teams in resolving customer and internal quality issues.

  • Work closely with NPI teams on control plans, PFMEA, and gauge planning.

  • Carry out internal audits and support compliance activities.

  • Provide quality and process data to manufacturing teams to drive improvements.

  • Train and support Quality Technicians and Product Conformance Technicians.

  • Visit customer and supplier sites to resolve quality concerns and build strong relationships.

About You
  • Proven experience applying quality assurance techniques with strong problem-solving skills.

  • Good knowledge of metal forming and fabrication processes.

  • Experience in a 1st Tier Automotive Supplier Quality Engineering role.

  • Strong understanding of OEM customer requirements.

  • Able to interpret data and apply statistical and analytical thinking.

  • Excellent communication skills with a positive, flexible attitude.

  • Results-driven, with enthusiasm and ownership to see tasks through to completion.

Qualifications & Skills
  • HNC (or equivalent) in Manufacturing or Engineering.

  • Quality Assurance qualification preferred.

  • Working knowledge of Automotive Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, etc.).

  • Valid driving licence – some travel required in the UK and abroad.
