Design Manager

We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to join the team of a successful high-rise contractor in Birmingham. You will be leading high-rise concrete frame projects across the West Midlands.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience delivering multi-storey concrete frame buildings and a strong understanding of the Building Safety Act (post-implementation).

The Role

• As Design Manager, you will take ownership of the design process from concept through to completion, ensuring compliance with technical, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• You will coordinate internal teams, external consultants, and contractors to ensure high-quality, safe, and timely delivery of high-rise projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design management for high-rise concrete frame buildings.
• Ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act and associated regulations.
• Coordinate and review designs with internal teams, consultants, and contractors.
• Provide technical leadership to ensure buildability, cost efficiency, and programme alignment.
• Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and quality audits.
• Act as the client-facing design lead for project delivery.

About You

Proven experience as a Design Manager on high-rise concrete frame projects.

Advantageous:

• Experience working on projects post-implementation of the Building Safety Act.
