NCASS is the UK’s only specialist membership organisation for independent food and drink businesses - street food, festival & event caterers and independent bars, pubs and restaurants. For over 30 years they have supported their members to operate safely, legally and profitably.

Reporting to the CEO, and managing the Membership team, the Head of Membership is responsible for the strategic, commercial and operational direction for increasing membership.

Key aspects of the role:

  • Work with the CEO to formulate a vision and strategy for the Membership team.
  • Deliver strategies and plans which support member growth and retention, deepen relationships and increase relevance of products and services within member and potential member organisations.
  • Identify and deliver plans which generate revenue from membership, events and other commercial opportunities.
  • Lead and innovate on all commercial aspects of the Membership plans.
  • Provide effective management of the Membership team including support, development, motivation and performance management.
  • Create a suite of key performance indicators to enable measurement of performance against the business plans.
  • Monitor progress against the business plans to ensure the objectives are attained as cost-effectively and efficiently as possible.
  • Maximise the value of marketing and communications working closely with the Marketing team.
  • Communicate the Membership strategy across the organisation to ensure it is understood and embedded in the organisation’s culture and outlook.
  • Create a culture and way of working focussed on outstanding customer advice and support.

You must have a proven track record of leading a sales or membership team in generating significant growth and profitability.

Your entrepreneurial mindset and commercial acumen will be supported by your strong analytical skills and understanding of how CRM systems can drive product and service offerings.

You will have excellent people skills - leadership, communication, relationship building, collaboration and influencing.

The salary on offer will be negotiable depending on what skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the position.
