We have a Cleaning Technician opportunity within our client's Estates and Services team based in Birmingham. In this role, you will work as part of a mobile cleaning team to deliver a good standard of cleanliness, security, and safety to the communal parts of the organisation’s communal and office's area.
Job Title: Cleaning Technician
Location: Birmingham
Hours: 37 hours per week
Type: 12 weeks temporary with potential extension
Pay Rate: £12.56 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean internal and external communal areas including entrances, corridors, lifts, bin rooms, and tenant spaces.
- Perform daily and weekly compliance checks (e.g. fire alarms, emergency lighting).
- Conduct block inspections and report hazards, repairs, and graffiti.
- Remove litter, refuse, and disinfect drains and gullies.
- Maintain cleanliness of specialist housing and office spaces (toilets, meeting rooms, stairwells, etc.).
- Use various cleaning methods: mopping, vacuuming, buffing, dusting, etc.
- Work independently and uphold company standards in the absence of a Team Leader.
Requirements:
- Previous cleaning experience and knowledge of basic Health & Safety.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and meet cleaning standards.
- Professional attitude aligned with Citizen values.
- Full UK driving licence (manual) and willingness to drive a company van.
- Able to work alone or in a team, including in unpleasant conditions.
- Basic DBS check required.
