We are seeking a Director of Operational Services to lead and develop our team, ensuring a person-centred approach to the services we provide. This role is crucial for maintaining high standards and driving strategic improvements across our operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team, managing budgets, and contributing to the senior leadership of the organisation.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Lead the operation of services, ensuring they reflect the organisation's vision and values.
  • Ensure operational services meet or exceed all regulatory requirements and provide high-quality, person-centred services.
  • Engage with the people we support, their families, and staff, ensuring visible leadership and excellent internal communication.
  • Drive a management culture that is performance-based but also supportive, including coaching at all levels.
  • Manage the financial aspects of the services, identifying growth opportunities through innovation and ensuring annual budgets are met.
  • Support revenue growth and market expansion by developing and executing strategic marketing initiatives.
  • Maintain health and safety standards for staff, volunteers, and service users.
  • Provide on-call management support outside of office hours and participate in a senior manager on-call rota as required.
  • Stay updated with sector developments and lead on the use of new technology to enhance service delivery and engagement.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven track record of senior management experience, preferably in specialist education, social care, public, or voluntary sectors.
  • Demonstrable experience working within a regulatory legal framework such as CQC, Ofsted, RQIA, CIW.
  • Experience leading large, multi-site teams and managing major strategic changes.
  • Strong knowledge of the social and political context within which Sense operates.
  • Robust relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic leadership skills with the ability to translate overall strategy into practical actions.
  • Familiarity with compliance, risk management, and quality assurance processes.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
