We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-regarded, luxury hotel in central Birmingham, seeking a talented and motivated Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in leading a high-performing kitchen team.

The Role:

As Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to oversee the daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards are consistently achieved across all food outlets, including the restaurant, events, and room service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentorkitchen staff alongside the Head Chef
  • Oversee food preparation and service, maintaining quality and consistency
  • Contribute to menu planningwith a focus on seasonality and creativity
  • Ensure strict hygiene standardsand compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Assist with stock control, ordering, and cost management
  • Deputise for the Head Chefwhen required

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Proven experienceas a Sous Chefor Junior Sous Chefin a quality hotel or restaurant
  • A passion for fresh, seasonal ingredientsand modern cooking techniques
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Excellent organisational abilitiesand a calm approach under pressure
  • A solid understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety protocols
