Graduate Technologist – Fresh Produce

• Based in Birmingham (Office-based, 8am – 5pm, Monday to Friday)
• £27,000 - £30,000 per annum
• National & international travel opportunities

Hours: 40 hours per week

Holidays: 20 days holiday + 8 bank holidays

5S Recruitment is working on behalf of a major international player in the fresh produce sector, with operations across Europe and a Head Office right here in Birmingham. With a proud heritage and a future-focused mindset, this privately owned, family-run business supplies some of the UK’s biggest retailers and they’re now looking to grow their next generation of Technical talent.

The Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated graduate to join the technical team and get hands-on with everything from food safety and quality to ethical trading and sustainability. You’ll play a key part in making sure fruit, veg, and salads meet the highest standards from farm to fork. You’ll be working with suppliers and growers from around the world, attending customer-facing meetings, conducting audits both in the UK and internationally, and supporting with internal systems and reporting.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Making real-world product quality decisions

• Maintaining and managing supplier due diligence systems

• Supporting ethical, sustainability, and food safety processes

• Carrying out internal audits and global supplier visits

• Assisting in managing specifications and customer databases

• Attending meetings with UK retail giants to support the wider team

• Benchmarking, sample prep, and KPI reporting

• Taking ownership of supplier development and technical relationships

What We’re Looking For:

• A graduate with strong communication and organisational skills

• Computer literate with confident Excel skills

• Keen to travel and learn – both across the UK and internationally

• A clean driving license is preferred but not essential
