Job Title: Paint Mixer
Location: Birmingham

Working Hours: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Hourly Rate: 13.75

Job Purpose:

To prepare and mix paint components in accordance with supplier specifications and technical data sheets (TDS), ensuring high-quality standards for internal production and timely delivery to technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mix paint materials to meet customer quality standards and internal production requirements.
  • Support technicians by ensuring all required paints are available on time and in full.
  • Perform paint mixing activities in compliance with IATF 16949 quality standards.
  • Accurately document and verify all mixed paint materials, including part numbers, batch numbers, mix ratios, viscosity, temperature, filtration, and pH values.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in paint kitchens and stores using 5S and FIFO systems.
  • Strip, clean, and maintain paint application equipment.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment (e.g., viscosity cups, rheometers, thermometers, scales) are calibrated and maintained.
  • Operate paint kitchen systems including fill and loading, agitation, lifters, filter changes, and top-up procedures.
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Provide cover for other team members as required.
  • Demonstrate initiative in supporting team members and driving continuous improvement and cost reduction.
  • Assist the Technical Manager with departmental activities as needed.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in the paint manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Willingness to undertake relevant training to enhance skills.
