Salary: £40,000

We are exclusively supporting our client to recruit a proactive and experienced Business Development Manager, who will be responsible for driving outbound commercial activity, managing the sales pipeline, and developing long-term relationships with clients and stakeholders.
You will be responsible for taking ownership of all outbound sales efforts to include lead generation, conversion of inbound enquiries, proposal management and relationship development. You will work alongside the Sales and Marketing Manager to deliver on company strategic growth goals.
The successful candidate will have a proven B2B track record in business development within Automotive or Manufacturing. You will be proactive in coordinating outbound sales activities and recognising opportunities for growth based on market knowledge.
Role and responsibilities:
- As Business Development Manager you will be responsible for driving outbound commercial activity, managing the sales pipeline, and developing long-term relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Work towards delivering sales targets and contributing to the wider team revenue goals
- Lead on all outbound sales activity, identifying new opportunities through proactive engagement and engaging with existing and prospective clients
- Closely manage the full sales cycle, from inbound enquiry qualification through to proposal development and closing the sale
- Responsible for accurately managing the sales pipeline in the CRM (Salesforce) ensuring all leads recorded and progress is tracked to support forecasting
- Support the marketing with contributing to the development of sales materials and marketing campaigns
- Analyse conversion rates, track closed/lost opportunities, and provide insights into customer trends and competitor activity to Sales and Marketing Manager regularly
- Responsible for building and maintaining strong commercial relationships with existing and prospect clients, Tier 1s, OEMs and key decision-makers within the automotive and manufacturing sectors
- Regularly attend client meetings, industry events, and conferences to company profile, gain market knowledge and proactively generate business leads
- Update the Sales and Marketing Manager on regular sales activities and target delivery.
Skills and experience required:
- Proven demonstrable experience in B2B sales within the automotive or manufacturing sector
- Strong knowledge of OEMs and Tier 1s
- Ability to build and maintain rapport with industry leader and client relationships
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing sales data and pipelines (preferably Salesforce)
- Comfortable attending client meetings and industry events to generate business proactively
- Positive, self-motivated, and proactive attitude
As a Business Development Manager, your working pattern will be hybrid. As part of your hybrid working pattern, there will be a requirement adhoc to travel to visit clients, attend events and other office locations as required by the business.
