We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Children’s Residential Home Manager to oversee the operation of our 4-bed EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties) service in Birmingham.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the day-to-day operation of the 4-bed residential service, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, including Ofsted standards.

Develop and implement individualized care plans for children and young people, ensuring their emotional, physical, and educational needs are met.

Lead and motivate a dedicated team of staff, providing supervision, guidance, and support to maintain high standards of care and safeguarding.

Monitor and ensure the well-being and safety of all children and young people in the home, promoting positive outcomes.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with parents, social workers, and other stakeholders to ensure collaborative and effective care.

Take responsibility for the home’s budget, ensuring financial management is effective and efficient.

Prepare and participate in Ofsted inspections, ensuring the service is consistently meeting and exceeding required standards.

Ensure the service provides a warm, caring, and safe environment where children and young people feel respected and valued.
Key Requirements:

Ofsted Registered Manager Qualification (or willingness to obtain within a reasonable time frame).

Extensive experience in managing children’s residential homes, particularly in EBD services.

A comprehensive understanding of the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards.

Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, mentor, and develop a team.

A deep commitment to safeguarding children and young people.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.

A proactive, solution-focused approach to problem-solving.

Experience in managing budgets and financial planning.
Desirable:

A relevant management qualification, such as Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.

Experience working with children with complex emotional and behavioural needs.
