ROLE: Building Services (Mechanical) Design Engineer
SALARY: £60,000 - £70,000 (DOE)
LOCATION: Nationwide (Flexible Site, Office & Home)
THE COMPANY:
We are currently working with a leading building services business, based in Birmingham, who are looking to recruit an experienced Design Engineer to join their team.

DUTIES:
- Lead pre-construction activities, including site surveys and validation
- Manage the design process from Stage 3 to Stage 5 (or beyond)
- Balance budgets, timescales & compliance to develop buildable designs
- Work closely with clients, specialists & project managers
- Produce handover documentation (O&Ms, As-Fitted Drawings, Certifications)
- Oversee the commercial success of design-only projects
THE CANDIDATE:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical building services design, with experience across HVAC, plumbing, drainage & specialist systems.
You should have:
- Minimum 5 years experience in detailed mechanical design
- HNC or equivalent in Building Services Engineering
- Strong AutoCAD 2D skills (Revit experience is a bonus!)
- Proficiency in MEPWorx (Cymap) or Hevacomp (training available)
- Excellent time management & organisational skills
- Full UK Driving License (6 points or less)
- Willingness to travel nationwide for site visits & meetings
