Role Purpose

As a Graduate Building Surveyor, you will support the surveying team across a wide range of property-related projects, including inspections, design, refurbishment, compliance, and professional advisory work. You will gain hands-on experience while working towards chartership (MRICS), developing both technical and client-facing skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with carrying out building surveys, inspections, and defect analysis.

  • Support preparation of condition surveys, schedules of dilapidations, and schedules of condition.

  • Contribute to design and specification work for refurbishment, repair, and maintenance projects.

  • Assist in preparing and managing tender documentation, including contract administration.

  • Undertake measured surveys and produce CAD drawings where required.

  • Provide support in preparing feasibility studies and budget estimates.

  • Carry out health & safety assessments and ensure compliance with CDM Regulations.

  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.

  • Maintain accurate project documentation and contribute to report writing.

  • Work towards RICS Assessment of Professional Competence (APC).

Requirements

Qualifications & Education:

  • RICS-accredited degree in Building Surveying (or working towards completion).

  • Interest in pursuing MRICS qualification.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with AutoCAD/Revit desirable.

  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.

  • Team player with ability to work independently when required.

  • Problem-solving approach and willingness to learn.

Experience:

  • Relevant work placement, internship, or year-in-industry experience desirable but not essential.

  • Knowledge of UK building regulations and construction processes advantageous.
