Nicholas Associates are partnered with a groundworks and civil engineering contractor who are one of the most highly regarded companies in their field, due to growth and securing new work they are looking for a Pre-Construction Manager. The company has a high staff retention rate and employee progression programmes, as a business, they work alongside construction companies and deliver civil engineering, groundworks, infrastructure services to new build projects with top 10 house builders.
The primary role of the Pre-Construction Manager is to lead the pre-construction modelling team and to provide technical guidance for our estimators and site teams in the delivery of successful tenders. The role involves building close working relationships with our clients, to obtain a competitive advantage at tender stage and translating this into a strategy for the successful delivery of all secured tenders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and explore all value engineering opportunities.
- Obtain an accurate ground model and produce an earthworks strategy.
- Oversee the transition of earthworks models from tender to construction.
- Work closely with the Construction Directors and Group Commercial Director to ensure that our tender strategy is converted into actual site activities.
- Ensure that the post-contract team understand the scope of works and strategy for the successful delivery of the site.
- Site visits as required during first 3 months of new sites commence.
- Attend pre-start Meetings; internal and external.
Experience Required:
- HNC / HND / Degree in civil engineering.
- 10 years-experience in civil engineering.
- Skilled in the use of modelling software.
- Good communication skills with clients, suppliers and colleagues.
- A professional and confident attitude.
